Pretty in Pink - The Rare Padparadscha Sapphire Engagement Ring

'Sapphire Engagement Rings symbolize nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness...'

The stone of royalty. A stone that mimics the depths of the sea with it's rich blue tones. The cherished sapphire, a gemstone of the corundum family, is prized for it's durability and vivid colours. Sapphires rate a 9 as the third hardest mineral on Moh's scale, with the diamond falling in at 10. Traditionally this precious gemstone symbolizes nobility, truth, sincerity, and faithfulness. However, in the middle ages the stone represented the heavens and was worn on crowns and capes of royalty.

'Padparadscha Sapphire Engagement rings are an exceptionally rare stone that have natural pink to orange hues...'

Because it is so often recognized for it's vibrant blue colour, it often comes as a surprise when it is seen in it's pink form! Pink sapphires, or Padparadscha sapphires, make an excellent choice for engagement rings and are a more durable alternative to the gemstone Morganite. They are an exceptionally rare stone that have natural pink to orange hues and are often presented in 'mix cut' form when faceted to preserve as much of the sapphire as possible. Due to the rarity of the stone, inclusions are often seen with the naked eye and are welcomed. The Padparadscha sapphire, meaning 'aquatic lotus blossom' is found in Madagascar, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania.

'A Pink Sapphire For Your

Handmade Engagement Ring...'

Pink sapphires are a favourite precious gemstone of mine to work with, especially for handmade sapphire engagement rings. They make a great alternative stone to a diamond, while exuding romance and feminism. When designing a handmade gold ring here in my Vancouver studio, I take the utmost care in choosing sapphires that are unique and that will compliment the design of your gold ring perfectly. My favourite pairing for pink sapphires is rose gold, however, due to the versatility of the pink shade it also compliments yellow gold and white gold beautifully. Although they are hard to come by, you can contact me here to inquire whether or not I have any on hand for your one-of-a-kind ring design. You may also check out my shop to see if I have any ready made sapphire rings by clicking here.
